Jogadores, equipes, (mascotes) e fãs da NHL homenageiam enfermeiras no dia nacional dedicado a elas

Em tempos de pandemia do novo coronavírus e isolamento social, a NHL resolveu homenagear as enfermeiras através de um vídeo, em que jogadores e fãs de hóquei no gelo aplaudem as profissionais de saúde. Foi a forma encontrada pela liga de demonstrar apreço por aqueles que estão na linha de frente no combate ao COVID-19. O vídeo foi postado na quarta-feira (6), data em que é comemorado o Dia Nacional das Enfermeiras nos Estados Unidos.

A data marca também o início da semana dedicada às enfermeiras, que termina no dia 12 de maio, data do aniversário de Florence Nightingale (12/5/1820 – 13/8/1910). Ela ganhou reconhecimento por ter sido pioneira no tratamento de feridos de guerra, durante a Guerra da Crimeia, entre 1853 e 1856. Saiba mais sobre a história de Nightingale clicando aqui!

Também na quarta-feira, o capitão do Chicago Blackhawks, Jonathan Toews, homenageou uma enfermeira que lutou, venceu e combate o COVID-19 em um vídeo de uma campanha de atletas chamada The Real Heroes.
